Peshawar, March 18, 2026 – Two policemen were injured in a grenade attack carried out by unidentified terrorists on a police checkpoint here in the early hours of Wednesday morning in Budha Pir area, police confirmed.
According to details, the attack targeted the Zingli checkpoint, where the attackers threw a grenade and fled the scene. The injured individuals were identified as two policemen, Shafi Allah and Wahibat.
The injured policemen were immediately taken to Lady Reading Hospital where they are receiving medical treatment, police officials said.
Following the attack, police responded with full force. However, the attackers managed to escape under the cover of darkness.
Meanwhile, SSP operations PeshawarFarhan Khan visited the hospital and inquired about the condition of the two injured policemen.
He directed the hospital authorities to ensure the provision of the best possible medical care.
He pointed out that the security alert has been raised throughout the region, while inspection procedures have been tightened at all entry and exit points to prevent any untoward incident.
