A section of the Tizjam Express train derailed near Lodhran on Tuesday, injuring at least 25 passengers, rescue officials said.
MULTAN (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 24th Mar, 2026) A section of the Tezgam Express train derailed near Lodhran on Tuesday, injuring at least 25 passengers, rescue officials said.
According to initial reports, eight vehicles derailed, five of which overturned while three went off the track. The accident reportedly started from the fourth bus behind the engine.
Rescue teams from Rescue 1122 immediately arrived at the site and began relief operations. 17 passengers sustained minor injuries and were immediately given first aid, while eight injured were taken to DHQ Lodhran Hospital for further treatment.
Officials said no deaths have been reported so far. Station Manager and Assistant Station Manager Lodhran are supervising rescue efforts at the scene.
Major railway authorities are also heading to the site, while train operations on the affected track have been suspended.
The cause of the accident will be determined after an official investigation. Restoration work is expected to begin soon.
