The hearing in TikToker Sana Yousuf’s murder case progressed as 23 witnesses recorded their statements and the court appointed a state counsel due to the absence of the defense counsel.

Islamabad, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17 March, 2026) The hearing in the Sana Yousuf TikTok murder case has progressed as 23 witnesses recorded their statements and the court appointed a state advocate due to the absence of defense counsel.

The session was moderated by Additional District and Sessions Judge Muhammad Afzal Majoka.

During the proceedings, Public Prosecutor Raja Naveed Hussain Kayani appeared in court and raised concerns about the delay in the trial.

The court appointed State Counsel Tariq Khan to represent the accused after the absence of the defense lawyer. The prosecutor told the court that the defense had not questioned any witnesses earlier and was causing delay in the case.

He said limited questioning was conducted during the previous hearing in line with the Supreme Court’s directions.

During the last session, the State’s Attorney completed the examination of one of the witnesses. Sanaa Yousef’s father’s statements were also recorded before the court.

The prosecution informed the court that the statements of 23 witnesses have been recorded so far. The court has now summoned more witnesses for the next session. The case was postponed until next March 18 to continue the procedures.
