Pakistan condemns the rulings issued by the Indian court on Asiya Andrabi and other Kashmiri women

In a statement, Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Andrabi said the ruling, under the stringent law, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, constitutes a serious miscarriage of justice and reflects the ongoing suppression of fundamental rights in the country. Asiya Andrabi has long been a strong advocate for the Kashmir cause, and her conviction and harsh sentence have highlighted the shrinking space for political expression and civil liberties in IIOJK, the spokesperson said.

He added, “Pakistan believes that such actions exacerbate tensions and undermine the prospects for peace and stability in South Asia.”

The spokesman urged the international community, including the United Nations and global human rights organizations, to immediately pay attention to this development and stop it India Responsible for its actions in IIOJK.

He also called for the protection of the political, social and human rights of the Kashmiri people, including the right to freedom of expression and fair trial.

“Pakistan reaffirms its steadfast support to the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their just struggle for self-determination, as stipulated in the relevant UN Security Council resolutions,” Andrabi added.
