Sargodha (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21st March, 2026) Like other parts of the country, Eid al-Fitr prayers were held under tight security arrangements across the city on Saturday.
More than 2,000 police were deployed outside the Al-Imamah and Al-Muftahah mosques the prayer For reasons that ensure the safety of worshipers.
According to officials, 12 special pickets have also been set up at key points with more than 250 officers specially appointed for Eid prayer security.
To curb one-wheeling, more than 100 personnel of Sargodha police and traffic police have been deployed across the city.
Meanwhile, 50 traffic police officers have been assigned to manage traffic to prevent congestion and ensure smooth movement of vehicles.
Security measures have been expanded to other public areas as well, with 150 officers deployed in parks and public places and about 100 stationed at important cemeteries.
District police officer, Sargodha Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf, said personnel have been equipped with metal detectors to conduct searches, while traffic gates have been installed at sensitive locations.
He added that strict patrols were conducted in all areas.
Officials said the arrangements are aimed at maintaining law and order during the religious occasion.
