Abbottabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 21 March, 2026) Like other parts of the country, people in Hazara district on Saturday performed Eid al-Fitr prayers in every city, town and village of the district under tight security measures.
Hundreds of thousands of worshipers performed Eid al-Fitr prayers with religious zeal and enthusiasm, and also exchanged Eid greetings with each other.
In most places, including Haripur, AbbottabadIn Mansehra, Havelian, Batgram and other cities in the Hazara region, Eid al-Fitr prayers were held at 7 am, as thousands of Muslims gathered to perform the prayers.
The largest Eid al-Fitr mass prayer was held at Eidgah, Central Jami Mosque in Abbottabad and Jami Masjid Mandian in Abbottabad. Prayers were also held in open spaces in many parts of the city, in the presence of thousands of people.
The district administrations and Hazara police have made special security and traffic arrangements for Eid al-Fitr prayers and influx of tourists.
The police developed a comprehensive security program on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr and deployed its forces in all mosques during congregational prayers. Police forces were also stationed in key areas of the cities, including bazaars, parks and picnic areas, to prevent any untoward incidents.
More than 10,000 police personnel have been deployed across the entire Hazara division to ensure foolproof security during Chand Raat and Eid-ul-Fitr.
Keeping in mind the influx of tourists, the Hazara Traffic Police has made special arrangements to manage the traffic peak. The Karakoram Highway (KKH) has been divided into two lanes with barriers from Havelian to Abbottabad, General school To Mansoura and beyond.
