According to the Punjab Health Care Commission, there are about 46 million people in the country Pakistan They suffer from noncommunicable diseases, including diabetes, high blood pressure, heart disease, cancer and mental illness.
Health experts attributed this increasing trend to unhealthy lifestyles and lack of awareness, stressing that early diagnosis and timely treatment can prevent serious complications and save lives.
The committee has set minimum standards for treatment of such diseases in public and private healthcare facilities across Punjab and has directed strict compliance to ensure quality of care.
She urged citizens to follow healthy lifestyles, including a balanced diet, regular physical activity, and routine medical examinations.
Officials also advised people to follow doctors’ instructions and take prescribed medications regularly to reduce health risks.
