Faisalabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 12 March, 2026) Director General of Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Saqib Raza directed the teams to speed up the removal of sewer lines using modern machines and said that the entire network should be cleaned before the monsoon season to ensure smooth drainage and uninterrupted sanitation services to the residents.
Chairing a meeting to review ongoing operations, he said that Wasa has intensified its sewage sludge removal campaign across the city and deployed advanced equipment including bucket machines and winch machines to speed up the mechanical sludge removal process so that the process can be completed within the next month.
He said that besides routine sewer lines, comprehensive table It is also prepared to clean sewer lines.
He directed the operations staff to strictly follow the schedule to avoid waterlogging problems during the rainy season.
He also said that additional dewatering sets have been included in the WASA fleet to eliminate water accumulation at chronic ponding points, which would greatly enhance drainage response during heavy rainfall.
He said that providing effective sanitation and sanitation services is a top priority for the Water and Sanitation Authority. He added that all available resources have been mobilized while operations staff have been assigned specific tasks and all machines have been operated at full capacity to ensure efficient service delivery across the city.
