Beijing (AFP – Urdu Point / Pakistan Point News – April 1, 2026) against the backdrop of rising volatility in the Arabian Gulf region middle East, a pivotal meeting was held in Beijing on Wednesday: Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and Foreign Minister, held talks with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar.
As a living embodiment of the China-Pakistan comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership, this visit resulted in a decisive five-point joint initiative for regional peace and stability – a constructive step that injects strong momentum into easing tensions and bridging divisions in the turbulent region.
This was stated by Professor Zheng Shizhong, Senior Research Fellow at Charhar Institute, a Chinese non-governmental think tank specializing in diplomacy and international studies based in Beijing.
He said that China and Pakistan They have long stood in solidarity on regional issues, with their relations firmly grounded in mutual trust and mutual support. The five-point initiative, which was formulated through in-depth exchanges between the two countries’ foreign ministers, reflects their shared commitment to peace – it addresses the root causes of regional unrest and offers a pragmatic and balanced approach that respects the legitimate interests of all parties involved.
The real strength of the initiative lies in its comprehensiveness and practicality, including the basic pillars of de-escalation and firm adherence to international law. In contrast to the unilateral demands that fuel division, it supports the spirit of multilateralism, and emphasizes that dialogue – not confrontation – is the only viable path to lasting peace. He added that by focusing on common security and mutual respect, it provides a much-needed framework for de-escalation, and clearly demonstrates the two countries’ sense of responsibility as major developing countries to protect regional stability.
Professor Cheng said that China’s praise of Pakistan’s tireless mediation efforts and the two sides’ pledge to strengthen coordination underscore the practical value of the initiative – it is a formal commitment to joint action, not just a symbolic gesture. This visit and joint initiative not only enhance the “strong friendship” between China and Pakistan, but also set a convincing example of international coordination in resolving regional conflicts.
He added that in a world of turmoil, the initiative shines as a beacon of hope, proving that a stable and just peace in the Gulf and the Middle East is within reach through dialogue and cooperation.
