Upgrading of BHUs at G-13, Golra has been completed

ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th March, 2026) Renovation and modernization of basic health units in G-13 and Golra has been completed, officials informed a meeting chaired by Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Muhammad Ali Randhawa on Friday.

The meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Community Development Authority, reviewed the progress of work in various development initiatives and public benefit projects in the state Federalism capital.

The session was attended by senior officials including Member for Administration and Real Estate Talat Mahmood, Member for Finance Tahir Naeem, Member for Planning and Design Dr. Khalid Hafez, and Member for Environment Isfandyar Baloch.

Officials briefed the meeting that the complete modernization of basic healthcare units aims to improve access to basic healthcare services for residents of the capital.

The meeting was also informed that about 80 percent of the construction and renovation work at Jhangi Sayedan ​​BHU has been completed, while the tender process for the BHU at Sara Kharbouza is currently underway.

Participants also reviewed the progress made in establishing electronic libraries in public parks, with work continuing at seven sites in Islamabad as part of efforts to provide modern educational facilities to citizens.

The meeting also discussed the proposed National Police Hospital, as well as plans to establish four emergency rescue stations at I-9, I-14, G-11 and the Homac Industrial Park to enhance emergency response services. The PC-1 is being prepared for rescue stations, officials said.

Progress on water supply initiatives for the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi Developments related to the Shahdra and Dotara dam projects were also reviewed.

Randhawa said the CDA remains committed to improving civic amenities and public services in the federal capital.
