The Malaysia Pavilion was officially opened on the opening day by Dato’ Mohamed Azhar Mazlan, High Commissioner of Malaysia to Pakistan, along with Herman Hardinata Ahmad. The ceremony was attended by senior Tourism Malaysia officials, including Director Mohd Fakhruddin Hatmin and Deputy Director Mohana Morni Shanmugam.
Officials said the participation reflects Tourism Malaysia’s strategic efforts to re-engage with Pakistan’s travel and consumer trade market, in line with the ‘Visit Malaysia 2026’ campaign. They noted that Pakistan remains a major source market, supported by increasing tourism flows and improved connectivity between the two countries.
A delegation of eight Malaysian tourism organizations is representing the country at PTM 2026, participating in organized business-to-business (B2B) meetings with Pakistani travel trade partners. These participations aim to strengthen distribution networks, expand market-ready tourism products, and encourage cooperative promotional initiatives.
The Malaysia Pavilion showcases a variety of tourism sectors, including leisure travel, meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE), and halal tourism. Visitors and business partners are introduced to curated travel offers designed to meet the preferences of Pakistani travellers.
Industry representatives emphasized that enhanced air connectivity continues to play a vital role in boosting tourism flows, with multiple weekly flights connecting major Pakistani cities, including Karachi. Lahore And Islamabad to Kuala Lumpur.

The roadshow is expected to strengthen partnerships with local stakeholders and provide additional opportunities for cooperation between the tourism sectors of the two countries.
