Minister for Information and Publications Gilgit-Baltistan Ghulam Abbas on Tuesday said that tourism activities in Gilgit-Baltistan will continue apace and a completely safe environment will be ensured for tourists despite the recent events.

Speaking to the media here, he said that the government, local administration and security institutions are taking comprehensive measures to facilitate and protect tourists visiting the area.

He added that the religious scholars also demonstrated their responsibility by clearly indicating in their messages that there were no restrictions on tourists in Gilgit-Baltistan and that the overall environment remained peaceful.

The minister urged tourists from different parts of the country to visit the region without fear and enjoy its stunning mountain views, natural beauty and famous tourist destinations. He stressed that both the government and local communities are actively involved in expanding the scope of hospitality and providing maximum facilities to visitors.
