MULTAN (Urdu Point / Pakistan Point News – 5 April, 2026) Three people were killed and 14 others injured when a liquefied gas cylinder exploded in a moving auto-rickshaw on Muzaffargarh Road near Pul-Ashiqabad, Rescue Service 1122 said on Sunday.

The injured, many of whom suffered severe burns, were transferred after first aid to Nishtar Hospital Multan.

According to rescue officials, the rickshaw was heading from Nag Shah Chowk to Bahawalpur Chuck was carrying passengers when the cylinder suddenly exploded, starting a fire.

The fire engulfed the car within moments, causing panic and leaving the passengers with severe burns.

Immediately, rescue teams and fire units arrived at the scene, worked to extinguish the fire, and began relief operations under the supervision of the region’s emergency official, Dr. Hussein Mian.

The affected family was traveling from Qureshi Chowk (Muzaffargarh) to Multan.

The police also arrived at the scene and began investigating, while rescue teams continued their operations.
