The NRPU Initiative, a prestigious program of HEC, is designed to foster innovative, nationally relevant research, especially in areas that address critical challenges.

The funded projects at the University of Sharjah were awarded to Professor Dr. Ahmed Redha Bilal, Director of the Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), Dr. Iram Hafeez, Assistant Professor at the Institute of Chemistry, and Dr. Misbah Hussein, Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology.

In his speech, Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Qaiser Abbas described this achievement as a milestone in the university’s “progressive journey towards research excellence.” He said that this success reaffirms the position of the University of Sharjah as a leading institution focused on research Pakistan.

He also highlighted the pivotal role played by the ORIC Office in strengthening the university’s research ecosystem, noting that the office has been instrumental in promoting a culture of innovation, facilitating research collaboration, and enhancing overall research productivity.

He added that the continued support and strategic guidance from the Vice President, Deans and committed faculty has been instrumental in maintaining this momentum.

“The faculty’s dedication and performance continue to drive innovation and academic excellence,” the Vice Chancellor noted, expressing confidence that the university will continue to expand its research impact in the coming years.

Speaking on this occasion, Professor Dr. Ahmed Reda Bilal said that the university’s continued performance reflects its strong commitment to research excellence. He noted that the University of Sharjah received a total of seven projects funded by NRPU in the last two funding cycles, indicating continued academic progress and competitiveness. He added that this success was driven by effective institutional leadership and a vibrant research culture.
