Khanewal (Urdu Point / Pakistan Point News – 21st March, 2026) In a massive crackdown on corruption within the police department, a case has been registered against Sadr station officer Mian Shanu, Muhammad Waqar, along with two other policemen, on charges of abuse of authority and embezzlement in recovery proceedings.
District Police Officer Muhammad Abid reiterated the strict zero-tolerance policy against corruption and abuse of power, noting that accountability is being ensured within the police force without discrimination.
According to official sources, the young man, Muhammad Waqar, was immediately arrested and placed in prison. At the same time, both administrative and legal proceedings were initiated regarding allegations of embezzlement during the recovery operations.
The DPO further stated that the investigation is being conducted on merit, with senior officers appointed to lead a transparent investigation. Efforts are underway to collect additional evidence, and the scope of the investigation has been expanded to ensure that no aspect is overlooked.
Authorities have confirmed that the two policemen involved will be brought before the law soon, while more arrests are expected as the investigation progresses.
Dubai Police Director Mohammed Abed stressed accountability and made it clear that no police officer or official is above the law. He added that the internal accountability process has been accelerated, and corrupt elements within the department have been cracked down.
