Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – April 2, 2026) Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday praised the security forces for their successful operation against Kharijite sedition militants in North Waziristan, in which eight terrorists were killed near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
In a statement issued by the Presidency, President Zardari praised the professionalism of the security forces for their timely and effective work against terrorists. He added that the force’s role in defending the homeland and protecting the country’s borders is a source of national pride. He also urged the Afghan interim government to ensure that its territory is not used to carry out terrorist activities against it Pakistan.
In a separate statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his appreciation to the officers and personnel of the security forces for their professional capabilities demonstrated during the operation, and praised them for eliminating eight Kharijite terrorists. Reiterating that the war against terrorism will continue until it is completely eradicated, he said that he, along with the entire nation, stands shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistan Armed Forces in the country’s firm resolve to combat terrorism.
