Sargodha (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 20th March, 2026) A comprehensive and foolproof security plan has been completed to ensure peaceful celebration of Eid al-Fitr gatherings and Chand Raat celebrations across the district.
According to police sources, tight security arrangements have been made for 512 Eid gatherings across Sargodha on the orders of Dubai Police Director Muhammad Sohaib Ashraf. More than 2,000 officers and police personnel will be deployed to perform their duties during the Eid days.
The police have been assigned specific duties at 499 mosques and 101 Imam Bargah to ensure effective surveillance and rapid response. Elite Force teams will remain actively engaged in ongoing patrols throughout the region.
Special security measures have been implemented at sensitive locations, including the installation of traffic gates, metal detectors, and surveillance cameras to enhance surveillance and public safety.
In addition, 59 pickets have been set up across the district to maintain strict checks in Chand Raat, while 12 patrolling squads will remain on the roads to ensure law and order.
Additional security arrangements have also been made for graveyards, parks and other sensitive public places to prevent any untoward incident.
The DPO urged citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and strictly abide by the law. He stressed that there will be zero tolerance for one-wheeling, shooting from the air and rioting, and strict legal measures will be taken against violators.
