During the operation, a total of five gasoline pumps were inspected, and inventory and sales records of petroleum products were carefully examined. Inspection teams identified cases of overcharging and other violations at four petrol pumps, for which a cumulative fine of Rs 62,000 was imposed.
Later, a meeting was held with petroleum product traders and union representatives. The Assistant Commissioner strictly directed them to refrain from monopolizing petroleum derivatives and to ensure that fuel is sold at the officially announced prices.
He warned that the government would not tolerate hoarding or profiteering under any circumstances, and that strict legal action would be taken against those found violating the rules.
