The Shaheed Benazirabad district administration continued its crackdown on profiteers on the 26th day of Ramadan, imposing fines of Rs 62,500 on 33 shop owners.

According to details, the measures were implemented on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani. Assistant Commissioners and Mukhtariyarkar conducted inspections in markets, fruit and vegetable shops and among street vendors in four talukas of Nawabshah, Sakrand, Qazi Ahmed and Dawood.

During these operations, financial fines were imposed on 33 profitable shop owners.

In Nawabshah taluka, five shopkeepers were fined Rs 3,500, while in Daud taluka, four shopkeepers were fined Rs 12,000. In Sakrand taluka, four shopkeepers were fined Rs 2,000, while in Qazi Ahmed taluka fines amounting to Rs 45,000 were imposed on 20 shopkeepers. On 26 Ramadan, revenue officers inspected a total of 134 shops and push carts across the four talukas, out of which 33 shopkeepers were fined and the penalties were recovered immediately. Revenue officials said that action against beneficiaries will continue on a daily basis during Ramadan To provide relief to the public.
