The Directorate of Human Resources in Hebron Governorate organizes an awareness seminar at SBBWU University

PESHAWAR, (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th Mar, 2026) The Directorate General of Law and Human Rights of the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in collaboration with the Women’s Resource Center of Shark Jah and UN Women, organized an awareness seminar in connection with International Women’s Day at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women’s University in Peshawar.

The aim of the event was to encourage young women and girls to pursue careers in the justice sector, especially in the police, legal and judicial services, and to highlight the importance of gender equality and women’s empowerment.

The seminar was attended by eminent speakers and eminent personalities, including Saima Sharif, Director of Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, who shared her career journey and experiences in the field of policing, motivating the students to pursue careers in law enforcement with confidence.

Other speakers include Prof.

Dr. Safia Ahmed, Vice Chancellor of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Women’s University, Peshawar, Maqsood Ali, Director of Khyber Pakhwa Law and Human Rights Directorate, Fouzia Ali, Regional Coordinator of JAH, Dr. Zarmina Baloch, Director of RCC SBBWU, Maimunah Arbab, Lawyer Peshawar Supreme Court and Shagufta Gul of UN Women Peshawar sub-office.

Speakers stressed the crucial role of women in strengthening justice institutions, addressing gender-based violence, and promoting equal opportunities in public service.

A large number of students and faculty members attended the symposium and interacted effectively with the speakers.

The Directorate reaffirmed its commitment to promoting gender equality, women’s empowerment and encouraging young women to join justice sector institutions in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
