Shaheed Benazirabad Deputy Commissioner Abdul Samad Nizamani chaired a meeting of the Fire Safety Audit Committee on fire safety arrangements in commercial buildings, shopping malls and large public buildings in Nawabshah, at Darbar Hall on Monday.
Nawabshah (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 16 Mar, 2026) Deputy Commissioner Shaheed Binazirabad Abdul Samad Nizamani chaired a meeting of the Fire Safety Audit Committee on fire safety arrangements in commercial buildings, shopping malls and large public buildings in Nawabshah, at Darbar Hall on Monday.
During the meeting, a detailed review of fire safety arrangements in commercial buildings, shopping malls and major public buildings across the region was conducted. On this occasion, the Deputy Commissioner directed the concerned departments to ensure the availability of fire-fighting equipment, emergency exits and other safety measures in all buildings. The DC said that protecting lives and public property is the top priority and any negligence in this regard will not be tolerated. The Deputy Commissioner also directed the relevant authorities to conduct periodic inspections of commercial buildings and shopping centers to ensure their compliance with fire safety regulations.
He also directed that immediate measures be taken, including closing buildings that do not have adequate safety arrangements. The meeting decided that the fire safety audit process across the region would be more effective and that all relevant departments would perform their responsibilities in close coordination. The Assistant Commissioners of all the talukas and officers concerned briefed the meeting on the measures and actions taken in relation to fire safety audits. The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Saddam Hussain Memon, Police DSP Dur Tapish, DSP Habibur Rahman Lashari, Municipal Commissioner Abdul Razzaq Sheikh, Municipal Engineer Yasin Bangur, Rescue Officer Abdul Mannan, besides Assistant Commissioners of all talukas, representatives of Sindh Building Control Authority, Civil Defence, Fire Brigade and officers of various city municipal committees.
