In a brazen but futile act, terrorists attacked long-abandoned police stations under cover of darkness in Kohat on Wednesday, while authorities confirmed that the targeted buildings had already been vacated months earlier.

Kohat (Urdu Point / Pakistan Point News – 1 April 2026) In a brazen but futile act, terrorists attacked long-abandoned police stations under cover of darkness in Kohat On Wednesday, while authorities confirmed that the targeted buildings had been evacuated months ago. The dilapidated buildings, no longer in use, sustained damage, but no loss of life or any operational setback was reported.

According to police officials, these sites were deactivated early, with personnel being transferred to the newly established checkpoints, while ensuring improved security arrangements. The old facilities became redundant and unusable, and officials stressed that the attack was not of great strategic importance although it was carried out deliberately.

The authorities strongly linked the incident to frustration among terrorist elements allegedly involved in illegal gold mining, noting that the suspension of these activities had severely disrupted their financial networks.

The perpetrators, facing huge losses, acted recklessly in an apparent attempt to vent their anger through this devastating move.

Kohat District Police Officer Shehbaz Elahi quickly noticed the situation and hence directed immediate and comprehensive action against those responsible. He pledged unequivocally to bring the perpetrators to justice and deal with them with an iron hand. Identification efforts are now underway, and security measures have been tightened, with joint search and combing operations continuing actively as part of a coordinated strategy.
