Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th March, 2026) Provincial Local Government Minister Zeeshan Rafique visited the Punjab Suthra Authority office where he inspected the modern control room set up on the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz.
On this occasion, the Director General of the Punjab Suthra Authority, Babar Saheb Din, gave a detailed briefing to the provincial minister on the authority’s affairs and ongoing procedures.
It was informed in the media briefing that as per the Prime Minister’s instructions, steps are being taken to make the sewerage system more effective under the Suthra Punjab programme, while most of the work of the transition process has been completed.
Provincial Minister Zeeshan Rafique directed that an information monitoring room be set up in every ward so that awareness and monitoring regarding cleanliness would be more effective.
His Highness also inspected the Authority’s various departments and reviewed the ongoing projects related to hygiene.
While chairing the meeting, the Minister of Governorate also watched a short film prepared to educate citizens.
On this occasion, he said that cleanliness is the focus of attention of Prime Minister Maryam Nawaz and for this purpose it is necessary to conduct a complete awareness campaign. He said that through this film, the message of the importance of cleanliness will be conveyed, especially to young people.
Zeeshan Rafiq directed that social media should be used effectively for social awareness while all necessary steps should be taken for the anti-littering campaign. He also directed that financial fines be imposed on anyone who spreads dirt after cleaning.
The provincial minister also stressed on further improving the citizen grievance redressal system, saying that Suthra Punjab has gone completely digital and action taken on complaints should be uploaded to the system immediately.
