Rawalpindi (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – March 23, 2026) Pakistan The Space and Upper Atmospheric Research Committee (SUPARCO) has launched the Space4Climate initiative to enhance climate resilience and action through space technologies.

At its core is a climate observatory powered by GeoAI technology – an integrated digital platform that integrates satellite data, geospatial analyzes and modeling into actionable insights for policymakers, researchers and communities, said an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) press release issued here.

The platform monitors atmospheric pollutants (aerosols, sulfur oxides, nitrogen oxides), greenhouse gases (carbon dioxide, methane), forests, glaciers, coastal dynamics, river systems, and land use. It also tracks climate-related risks including floods, droughts, heatwaves, sea level rise and global weather events.

By integrating space-based and in situ data, Space4Climate supports evidence-based policy making and sustainable development – advancing Pakistan’s climate agenda in line with global efforts.
