ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6 March 2026) Punjab Women’s Protection Commission (WPC) Chairperson Hina Parvez Butt said on Friday that ensuring equal opportunities and protection for women remains a top priority for the government, stressing that outdated stereotypes must be dismantled and in this regard, equal rights and safety for women are not a virtue but basic responsibilities of society.

Hina Parvez Butt confirmed in an interview with a local resident news Emphasizing that dignity and equal opportunities for women are non-negotiable, and that protecting women’s rights is a fundamental responsibility of the state and society.

She stressed that the Women’s Protection Authority in Punjab is actively working to provide support and protection to women throughout the province. The Authority’s helpline remains available 24/7 to assist women facing harassment, violence or discrimination, ensuring immediate guidance and intervention when needed.

Hina Bhatt has identified major barriers to women’s advancement, including ingrained stereotypes, restrictive traditions, and sexism.

She noted that these social barriers often limit women’s access educationemployment and leadership roles, which hinder individual potential and societal progress.
