Lahore, 24 March 2026 – Punjab Police intensified a province-wide crackdown during the Eid days, arresting 36,843 criminals, including a large number from Lahore, as part of efforts to maintain law and order and ensure public safety.
According to a Punjab Police spokesperson, those arrested include 10,916 Category A individuals and 25,927 Category B individuals involved in serious crimes. In addition, 12,544 fugitives were arrested across the province, including 2,033 Class A offenders and 10,511 Class B offenders.
The operations also led to the arrest of 4,836 habitual criminals, including 1,706 Category A criminals and 3,130 Category B criminals, reflecting the continued focus on dismantling criminal networks.
in Lahore Alone, police have arrested 7,230 declared criminals, 4,312 fugitives, and 1,826 habitual criminals during the ongoing crackdown.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Karim praised the police teams for their outstanding performance and directed the authorities to intensify operations against criminal elements to protect the lives and properties of citizens.
