The delegation expressed its readiness to cooperate with the PRA in promoting documentation of the digital food economy and encouraging compliance among service providers operating through online platforms.

The participants also discussed joint initiatives aimed at enhancing tax culture and conducting public awareness campaigns to highlight the importance of tax compliance.

The delegation members noted that the effective use of technology can play a vital role in preventing tax evasion and increasing revenue collection. They stated that the growth of the electronic economy would enhance transparency a job activities while providing more convenience to consumers.

Speaking on the occasion, Moazzam Iqbal Sipra emphasized that promoting cashless economy and providing online facilities are among the key priorities of the government. He stated that cooperation with food delivery platforms would help bring unregistered companies into the tax network and improve documentation of the service sector.

He reiterated that no license will be issued by the Punjab Food Authority without registration with the Punjab Revenue Authority, stressing that such measures are necessary to ensure proper tax compliance within the food services sector.

The President also stressed that ensuring that taxes collected from the public are duly deposited in the government treasury is a national responsibility.

He added that the Punjab Revenue Authority would soon launch awareness campaigns in educational institutions across the province to enhance tax culture and encourage responsible tax practices among the youth.
