Lahore, March 26, 2026 Punjab Police arrested more than 6,500 suspects and recovered 430,875 kites and 11,143 spools of string across the province during an intensified crackdown on kites under the Anti-Kite Flying Act.
A Punjab Police spokesman said, Lahore Only 2,490 accused were arrested, 2,363 cases were registered, and 107,544 kites and 3,328 spools of thread were seized.
Inspector General of Punjab Police, Abdul Karim, while issuing strict directions, stressed that kite flying will not be tolerated anywhere in the province and action must be taken without discrimination.
He also directed the authorities to take action against individuals involved in selling metal strings and kites online.
The IGP Punjab appealed to parents to keep children away from the deadly activity and monitor their movements. Citizens were urged to report any case of kite flying immediately by calling helpline No. 15 to support responsible citizenship.
