Lahore (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – April 4, 2026) Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that the money saved through the government’s austerity and simplicity measures will be spent on the public.
The Prime Minister chaired a meeting on Saturday to review the country’s oil reserves and general relief measures amid recent regional tensions.
“Relief funds have been started to be provided to public transport and freight vehicle operators through digital wallets,” he said.
He added that under an effective and transparent system, the digital transfer of support to public transport buses and vehicles, as well as freight trucks and freight vehicles, had begun.
He said: “We strive to ensure that relief reaches the economically weaker segments as quickly as possible.
“
Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said: “We will not leave our people alone in difficult times.”
He stressed that providing relief to the common man in difficult circumstances was the government’s top priority.
The meeting briefed the Prime Minister on the progress of implementing general relief measures in light of the increase in petroleum products Prices.
The briefing stated that there are sufficient reserves of petroleum products available to meet the country’s needs.
The meeting also reviewed the progress made in implementing general relief initiatives.
The meeting was attended by Federal Ministers Dr Musaddiq Masood Malik, Ataullah Tarar, Ali Parvez Malik, Special Assistant Talha Burki and other senior officials.
