Pember’s lawyers thank the Chief Justice of AJK for the initiative of the historic judicial complex

Mirpur (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th Mar, 2026) A delegation of lawyers from the Bhimber District Bar Association on Friday met with Chief Justice of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Justice Raja Saeed Akram Khan and expressed their deep gratitude for his efforts in facilitating the establishment of the Bhimber Judicial Complex, describing the move as an important step towards strengthening the judicial infrastructure in the region. The delegation, headed by the head of the Bar Association, Chaudhry Gulzar Ahmed, a lawyer, and the Secretary-General, Chaudhry Habib Aslam, also met with the chief justice of the court. During the meeting, the delegation expressed warm appreciation for the proactive role of the Chief Justice, noting that the long-awaited Judicial Complex has been achieved largely due to his personal commitment to improving facilities for litigants as well as members of the bench and lawyers. Furthermore, the lawyers noted that the project will significantly enhance access to justice, thus creating a more organized and efficient judicial environment in the Pember region.

Moreover, the delegation extended its heartfelt congratulations to Justice Khalid Yousuf Chowdhury on his recent appointment as Judge of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir High Court. The visiting lawyers enthusiastically expressed their best wishes for his tenure, expressing confidence that his distinguished experience and professional integrity would further strengthen the judiciary in the region.

Finally, the delegation reiterated its appreciation for the wise and commendable initiatives taken by the Chief Justice to improve the system of administration of justice in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. Hence, the meeting concluded in a cordial atmosphere, reflecting the shared commitment of both the judiciary and the legal fraternity to enhance transparency, efficiency and public confidence in the judicial system, according to an official bulletin issued by the AJK PID Office.
