
The Pakistan Academy of Arts and the Pakistan Iqbal Academy, Lahore, signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in the academic, research, literary and educational fields.
Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – April 2, 2026) The Pakistan Academy of Arts and the Iqbal Academy in Pakistan and Lahore have signed a memorandum of understanding to enhance cooperation in the academic, research, literary and educational fields.
The agreement was signed at PAL’s headquarters in Islamabad, a press release said.
The MoU was signed by Dr. Abdul Rauf Rafiqi on behalf of Pakistan Iqbal Academy and Prof. Dr. Najiba Arif on behalf of PAL.
Under the memorandum of understanding, the two institutions will work to strengthen institutional ties and promote non-commercial cooperation in the field of research and education. The collaboration aims to present Iqbal’s thought more effectively at the national and international levels and create new opportunities for academic communities.
Under the agreement, the two organizations will launch joint research projects on turnout and other areas of common interest.
It will also facilitate the exchange of literary, academic and technical materials, including books, documents and reference resources.
The MoU also provides for the joint organization of seminars, conferences, academic forums, round table discussions, training courses and internships. Both institutions will also undertake initiatives to enhance faculty and student training, academic engagement, and linkages with universities and research organizations.
The agreement is expected to enhance institutional cooperation and give new impetus to literature, research, academics, national thought, and academic dialogue. It will also create opportunities for teachers, students, researchers, writers, intellectuals and scholars related to Iqbaliyat.
Among those present on the occasion were Dr. Bibi Amina, Raja Javed, Muhammad Sajid, Yusuf Khan and Irum Fatima.
