He said the primary purpose of arranging such camps is to provide quality medical facilities to the poor people living in remote areas where modern healthcare facilities are either not available or very limited.
He said that a large number of people living in remote areas face serious difficulties in obtaining appropriate treatment due to the lack of medical colleges or major hospitals in their vicinity.
He added that even reaching nearby major cities was not easy for many families due to financial constraints and poor transportation facilities, which increased the suffering of patients, especially women, children and the elderly.
Qaiser Sheikh said that in view of these problems, an initiative was launched to set up one or two free medical camps every month so that deserving patients can get treatment without any financial burdens.
He said that expert and qualified doctors examine patients for free in these camps and provide them with the necessary medicines and medical advice.
He said that many of the doctors participating in these camps usually earn thousands of rupees in private clinics, but they offer their services voluntarily in remote areas to serve the poor and needy.
He added that this initiative not only helps patients, but also creates awareness among people about preventive health care and the importance of timely treatment.
The minister said that the effects of the floods are still being felt in many remote areas and that a large number of people are suffering from various diseases, including skin infections and seasonal diseases.
He added that thousands of patients have already benefited from these camps and that the government is determined to continue this initiative on a permanent basis so that the matter can be facilitated for more people.
Talking about the national and international situation, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said that Pakistan is playing a positive and effective role at the global level thanks to the joint efforts of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir.
He said that Pakistan enjoys close relations with its neighbor Iran as well as the Gulf states, and its relations with the United States and China are also strong and stable.
He added that thanks to Pakistan’s balanced foreign policy and its principled position on international issues, the international community’s confidence in Pakistan is gradually increasing and the world now views Pakistan as a responsible and important country in the region.
The Federal Minister said that Pakistan provides vast opportunities for investment in various sectors including industry, agriculture, energy and infrastructure.
He added that the growing confidence of international investors in Pakistan was evident through the increasing commercial activities and rising volume of transshipment at the country’s ports.
