Dera Ismail Khan (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6 Mar, 2026) Paharpur Assistant Commissioner Dr Hamid on Friday visited the breach site of CRBC canal in Kathgarh accompanied by Supervising Irrigation Engineer and Director General of CRBC (WAPDA).
According to the district administration, the breach was about 150 feet wide, causing flooding in nearby residential areas.
The district administration immediately took emergency measures and moved residents of the affected areas to safer places in a timely manner, preventing any loss of life.
During the visit, the Assistant Commissioner and other officials conducted a detailed inspection of the breach site and were briefed on the ongoing repair work.
Machinery and employees of the relevant departments were present at the site, and repair work was continuing at a rapid pace.
Dr. Hamed directed the relevant officials to ensure the quality of the materials used in the repair process, and stressed the need to take all necessary measures to complete the work in a permanent and effective manner.
He also urged relevant authorities to identify other weak points along the CRBC and make timely repairs to prevent similar incidents in the future and to protect the lives and property of the public.
