At least nine miners were killed and three others injured in a tragic landslide accident that occurred during a mining operation in Rustom tehsil area of Mardan on Tuesday.

According to initial reports, the incident occurred in Nongabad district where a sudden landslide buried several workers under the rubble while they were carrying out mining activities.
Rescue Team 1122 immediately arrived at the site, accompanied by seven ambulances, a disaster response vehicle, and an excavator to carry out relief operations.
During the initial phase, three injured workers were recovered from the rubble and transported to a nearby hospital.
Later, rescuers recovered the bodies of nine miners from under the rubble after an ongoing search operation.
The authorities have not yet determined the exact cause of the landslide, while investigations into the incident are still ongoing.
