Sukkur (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 19 Mar, 2026) Provincial Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah on Thursday announced that the Sindh Chief Minister has approved the construction of the new Sukkur-Rohri Bridge over the Indus River.
The new bridge will be connected Socor Rohri, along with its surrounding areas, is expected to reduce traffic pressure on existing roads. The Prime Minister stated that Sukkur and Rohri are complementary urban and economic corridors.

The Prime Minister approved the Project Development Facility for the New Sukkur-Ruri Bridge, which will be completed under the Public-Private Partnership model by the Local Government Department. Transaction advisors will be appointed for the project.
The new bridge is about 1.5 kilometers long and is multi-lane, with separate lanes for heavy vehicles and pedestrians.
