More than 12,000 rescuers have been deployed across Punjab for Eid duties

Lahore, March 21, 2026 Emergency Services Minister Dr Rizwan Naseer said on Saturday that Rescue Team 1122 has been put on high alert across Punjab on the directives of the Prime Minister to ensure public safety during Eid al-Fitr.

According to a Rescue 1122 spokesperson, more than 12,000 rescuers have been deployed to key locations across the province under medical coverage for Eid al-Fitr.

While sharing the details, Dr Rizwan said that 2,300 motorcycles, 896 ambulances and 316 fire engines have been deployed across Punjab to respond to emergencies.

He added that the governorate’s emergency operations center is following up rescue operations around the clock, while special rescue points have been established in major Eid gatherings.

The minister said that district emergency officers are leading operations in their areas, adding that routine rescue services will continue along with medical coverage for Eid.

He urged citizens to contact the nearest rescue center or call the helpline 1122 in the event of any emergency.
