MoIB debunks Afghan Taliban claims regarding attack on rehabilitation facility in Kabul

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 17 March 2026) The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Monday refuted the claims of the Afghan Taliban regarding a Pakistani attack on a drug rehabilitation facility in Kabul, describing the statement as “false and misleading.”

According to MoIB Fact Checker, the operation conducted on the night of March 16 was a precision strike that strictly targeted military targets.

“Pakistan specifically targeted military installations and infrastructure to support terrorists, including technical equipment and ammunition stores belonging to the Afghan Taliban and Kharijite sedition in Kabul and Nangarhar,” the ministry said, adding that these assets are being used against Pakistani civilians.

The ministry also noted that the detonation of stored munitions used by Master Terror Proxy after the strike completely contradicted the false claim that the facility was a civilian rehabilitation centre.

The Interior Ministry stressed that the Taliban’s narrative is a deliberate “misreporting of facts” aimed at misleading public opinion and concealing their “illegitimate support for cross-border terrorism.”
