The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday granted bail to Canadian and Pakistani national doctoral student Hamza Ahmed Khan in a cybercrime case.
Lahore (Urdu Point / Pakistan Point News – April 7, 2026) Lahore The Supreme Court (LHC) on Tuesday granted bail to Canadian and Pakistani national doctoral researcher Hamza Ahmad Khan in a cybercrime case.
Judge Waheed Khan agreed to release him on a surety bond of Rs 200,000.
During the hearing, lawyer Asad Jamal, representing the petitioner, told the court that the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) had registered the case and detained Hamza. The defense argued that he was entitled to bail and requested his release pending further proceedings.
The court accepted the petition and ordered Hamza to submit bail Bonds According to her order.
The case, registered under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA) 2016, alleges that Hamza posted anti-state content on social media platforms, including X and Instagram. After the Judicial Magistrate and the Sessions Court denied him bail earlier, he approached the LHC, which eventually agreed to release him.
