Kohat (Urdu Point / Pakistan Point News – 6 March 2026) Kohat Police achieved notable success during a comprehensive month-long crackdown on criminal elements and drug traffickers in February 2026, arresting dozens of suspects and confiscating a large quantity of weapons, ammunition and drugs, officials said on Friday. The operations were carried out under the directions of District Police Officer Shehbaz Elahi, with the aim of effectively promoting law and order across the district.
According to police officials, the operations resulted in the arrest of 47 criminals and 32 drug peddlers, resulting in a significant improvement in public safety. Furthermore, law enforcement teams actively conducted targeted raids and intelligence-based operations across the region to dismantle criminal networks. As a result, the authorities were able to quickly arrest individuals involved in serious crimes and illegal drug trafficking.
At the same time, the campaign also led to the recovery of a huge cache of weapons and ammunition, including 56 Kalashnikov rifles, 15 rifles and grenades, 294 pistols and 15,320 rounds of ammunition. In addition, anti-drug operations succeeded in uncovering large quantities of drugs, as police confiscated 59,165 kilograms of charas, 7,167 kilograms of crystal meth (ice), and 19,162 kilograms of heroin, dealing a decisive blow to drug trafficking networks operating in the region.
DPO Shehbaz Elahi reiterated that strict and indiscriminate action against criminals will continue, stressing that Kohat Police remains fully committed to protecting lives and property of citizens. Furthermore, he stressed that the ongoing operations will be carried out consistently and carefully to ensure lasting peace, stability and a safe environment for the public.
