Karachi (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – April 4, 2026) Commissioner Karachi He visited different areas including different sub-divisions of central and eastern districts to review the situation of the city after the rains.
Check the roads that suffer from traffic problems, lane encroachments, and parking problems, and check the state of cleanliness.
The governor expressed satisfaction at the response to the rain situation, saying that the concerned departments were quick to address the problem. He stressed that the administration is doing its part with the concerned departments to resolve civil issues and improve the city’s facilities. He added that the damaged areas and roads were quickly restored.
The areas visited by the commissioner include Old Noish, Patel Bara, Jehangir Road, Liaquatabad, Tin Hati and Karimabad. He also inspected the ongoing work in Karimabad Tunnel. He expressed his hope that the project would help solve traffic problems in the area.
The commissioner was informed that carpeting of the tunnel would begin next week, and efforts are being made to open it soon.
During his visit to the old Nomish Chowk area, he noticed increasing encroachments on the footpath by illegal parking and obstructions.
Deputy Governor of Sharqia, Nasrullah Abbasi, directed that necessary measures be taken against encroachments and to ensure the removal of all types of encroachments.
The Commissioner was accompanied by Director General KDA Asif Jan Siddiqui, DIG Traffic Peer Muhammad Shah, Deputy Commissioner East Nasrullah Abbasi, DC Central Taha Salem and other officials. The DIG Traffic Department highlighted the roads causing traffic congestion with illegal parking and encroachments.
It was decided that the district administration and traffic police would work together to address traffic problems and remove encroachments in the city.
