Islamabad (Urdu Point/Pakistan Point News – March 6, 2026) Afghanistan Centre, middle CAMEA at the Islamabad Strategic Studies Institute (ISSI) organized a roundtable discussion on “Evolving Situation in Iran and Iran”. PakistanPolicy Response” on Friday.
A press release said that former diplomats, prominent academics and prominent practitioners joined the discussion that focused on the evolving situation in Iran, its regional implications and the current and future political outlook for Pakistan.
Participants noted that the situation in Iran remains very tense in the wake of the recent American and Israeli strikes and the retaliatory measures taken by Iran later.
These developments have exacerbated tensions across the Middle East and raised concerns about regional stability and security. The importance of dialogue and diplomatic engagement was also stressed to prevent further escalation, while preserving regional stability and Pakistan’s security and foreign policy interests.
Pakistan’s role as a potential mediator in promoting diplomatic engagement and regional stability amid growing uncertainty in the Middle East was also highlighted. The meeting was held under Chatham House Rule.
