KARACHI (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6 March 2026) Sindh Minister of Local Government, Housing and Town Planning Syed Nasir Hussain Shah chaired the Sindh District Administration Council meeting. Karachi Development Authority (KDA) at the Civic Center on Friday. During the meeting, the various administrative, financial and development matters of the institution were reviewed in detail.
During the meeting, KDA Director General Asif Jan Siddiqui informed the minister that paying the dues of retired employees is one of the organization’s most important priorities. He requested the Minister’s support to ensure that these dues are paid in a timely manner.
At this stage, Sindh Local Government Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah issued directions that the salaries and pensions of the Corporation’s employees should be paid on priority basis, as these are their fundamental rights. He suggested the possibility of obtaining funds from the Sindh government in the form of a loan to pay the dues, which the corporation can repay later. He stressed that any delay in disbursing employee entitlements means depriving them of their rights, and that disbursing pensions and entitlements to retired employees must remain a top priority.
KDA Director General Asif Jan Siddiqui also informed the minister that the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) owed certain dues to the corporation. In response, the Minister decided to form a committee to review these commitments and submit its recommendations.
The Director General of the Community Development Authority also stated during the meeting that the corporation intends to take action against encroachments on its lands in the future.
The Minister directed that all plots of land must be cleared of encroachments first and then offered for public auction. He also instructed that the plots of land be evaluated through a third party to obtain a better market Prices.
The Board of Directors also approved the promotion of the position of Director of Legal Affairs. On this occasion, Abdul Maarouf, President of the KDA Employees Union, presented the application charter, which was approved by the Minister, taking into account the interest of the employees.
The Minister also directed that public complaints related to the Authority’s files and records be addressed immediately and action taken against the relevant employee in the event of any complaint.
KDA Director General Asif Jan Siddiqui informed the meeting that a plan has been prepared to digitize the land records of the corporation and implementation will begin soon.
Those present in the meeting included Additional Secretary Local Government Dr Shamshad, Member Administration/Senior Director Lands Shakeel Siddiqui, Member Finance Nisar Ahmed Khan, Secretary KDA Arshad Khan, Director DPUD Rafiq Ahmed Kohro, Director Lands Atif Naqvi, Director Finance Nasir Khan, Director IT Abbas Ali, Deputy Director Budget Sohail Basit, Budget Officer Muhammad Nasir Khan, Budget Supervisor Muhammad Adil and other officials.
