IHC shall provide notice to the CDA in the event of uncovered manholes

Islamabad (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 6th March, 2026) The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Friday served notice to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on a petition against open manholes in various areas of Islamabad.

Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfaraz Dogar issued a written order on hearing the petition of citizen Mughal Din. Lawyer Malik Zuhair appeared before the court on behalf of the petitioner.

The court said that the petitioner identified an important public issue related to the safety of citizens in Islamabad. According to the author, there are open and uncovered inspection rooms in different sectors of the area Federalism And capital, which has become a serious danger to citizens due to the negligence and neglect of the concerned authorities.

The petitioner’s lawyer said there was a risk of accidents, serious injuries and loss of life due to the open manholes. According to the petitioner, the concerned institutions are committed to making public roads and paths safe and secure from these dangers.

The court ordered the legal officer to assist in the case, and another hearing will be held on March 30.
