MULTAN (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 22nd Mar, 2026) Senate President Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani attended the Milan Eid meeting hosted by Malikullah Ditta Kashif Bhusan, where he stressed the need to promote unity, social harmony and strong commitment to public service.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of political and social figures, notables, sheikhs and youth.
Addressing the participants, Gilani said that such festive gatherings are not only widespread love But they also play a vital role in promoting social cohesion and group unity.
He pointed out that the event reflects a shared commitment to moving forward through collective thinking and mutual cooperation.
He confirmed that while policy carries importance, and resolving public issues and ensuring regional development must remain top priorities. Gilani stressed that he has always sought to represent marginalized and disadvantaged groups in society and will continue to fight for their rights.
The Senate President noted that the future may hold multiple challenges, but they can be overcome through unity and cooperation. He assured the public that his doors remain open at all times and that he is fully committed to living up to the trust reposed in him.
Reflecting on personal values, Gilani shared his father’s advice on always standing with people in their joys and sorrows, a principle he said he followed throughout his life and passed on to the next generation.
He also praised Benazir Bhutto as a wise and visionary leader who consistently prioritized the common good.
Recalling his political journey, Gilani said that he first won the Lodhran elections before contesting from them Multan. He stressed that the key to political success lies in maintaining strong relationships with the public and party workers. He expressed relief that many of the supporters who have stood with him since 1988 are now represented by a new generation, reflecting their enduring loyalty and trust.
The ceremony concluded with the participants exchanging Eid congratulations and offering special prayers for the country’s progress, prosperity and stability.
