FUUAST organizes Green Journalism Conference 2026 on June 3

ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – April 4, 2026) A national level conference on Green Journalism 2026 will be held on June 3 in Federalism Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST), focusing on the most pressing environmental challenges of our time and the evolving role of the media in highlighting and addressing them.

Researchers, environmental experts and journalists from various universities across the country will present their research papers The Green Journalism Conference is organized by the Department of Mass Communication of FUUAST University.

Department Head, Dr. Faisal Javed, commenting on this huge event, said that this conference will be the first of its kind and unique, stressing that Pakistan The world is currently facing the challenge of global warming, and the media is a dynamic and responsible pillar of the state and can play a vital role in addressing this issue.

He added that there is a strong need for dialogue about the role that the media can play in protecting the environment.

“Keeping this need in mind, we decided to provide a platform to environmental experts and researchers from universities,” he said.

Conference Secretary and Assistant Professor of Mass Communication, Dr Sikandar Zareen said that a platform is also being provided to PhD scholars, Masters and undergraduate students. Students from universities in Rawalpindi Islamabad can contribute to environmental protection through research posters.

According to the university, the research papers at the conference will cover environmental protection, combating deforestation, water conservation, flood prevention, environmentally friendly media, and introducing green journalism courses in universities.

The list of paper sponsors will be announced by April 15, while the last date Submission of research papers is May 16.

Vice Chancellor Dr. Zabta Khan Shinwari will be the main sponsor of the conference.

An organizing committee has already been formed, including faculty members. The committee includes Secretary of the Conference, Assistant Professor Dr. Sikandar Zareen, Assistant Professor Dr. Sher Juni, Lecturer Rashid Sal, Saima Azhar, and Saira Kazmi.
