Federal Ombudsman secures Rs 850,000 retirement benefits of retired post office employee

According to the spokesman, retired employee Abdul Ghafour submitted a complaint to the regional Federal Ombudsman’s office about non-payment of his pension arrears despite his repeated visits to the concerned offices during the past two years.

He requested intervention after exhausting the department’s channels to no avail.

Upon receiving the complaint, the Regional Office took formal notice of the matter, summoned the parties concerned and initiated an audit of the official record.

During the hearing, it was found that administrative delays and some technical problems led to the non-payment of the complainant’s legitimate dues.

Based on the directions of the Federal Ombudsman, the concerned department has been directed to take immediate corrective action. After compliance, the pension arrears were recalculated and the total amount of Rs.

850,000 was released to the complainant.

The spokesperson said the Federal Ombudsman Secretariat provides a prompt, free and effective forum for redressal of complaints against federal government departments, ensuring timely justice and relief for citizens.
