
Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Security, Syed Imran Ahmad Shah, on Wednesday reiterated the government’s steadfast commitment to public welfare, expressing satisfaction over the effective implementation of relief initiatives during the month of Ramadan.
ISLAMABAD (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 25th March, 2026) Federal Minister for Poverty Alleviation and Social Security, Syed Imran Ahmad Shah, on Wednesday reiterated the government’s firm commitment to the public interest, expressing satisfaction with the effective implementation of relief initiatives during the month of Ramadan.
This came during a meeting with the Secretary of the Benazir Income Support Programme, Amer Ali Ahmed, who briefed the minister on the completion of the Ramadan relief package.
He pointed out that 91 percent of the goal was successfully achieved.
The Minister expressed his appreciation for the efforts of BISP and noted that the progress reflects the government’s dedication to supporting vulnerable segments of society.
Later, CEO of Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund, Nadir Gul Barish, also visited the minister.
During the meeting, discussions were held on ensuring transparency and effective implementation of the Fund’s social welfare programmes.
Syed Imran Ahmad Shah said that he would personally visit various project sites to review the ongoing initiatives and ensure transparency in implementation.
He also stated that visits to hospitals and universities across the country will resume to evaluate Pakistan Baitul Maal (PBM) initiatives and review facilities and services on the ground.
