MULTAN (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 3rd Apr, 2026) Anti-Corruption Foundation (ACE) has expanded its province-wide crackdown on corrupt elements – especially deed writers involved in fake property records.

Under the supervision of Multan Regional Anti-Corruption Director Basharat Nabi, authorities uncovered a major scandal involving a well-organised network engaged in preparing fraudulent records. Investigations revealed that the sub-registrars of the city and Sadr of Multan, in connivance with several deed writers, created a systematic operation that caused losses worth millions of rupees to the national exchequer. The defendants were convicted of serious legal violations and intentional fraud against the state system.

The authorities confirmed that the scope of the investigation has been further expanded, with more arrests and major information disclosures expected in the coming days.

The issue came to light after a surprise visit by the commissioner Multan department, Aamir Karim Khan, two months ago which led to the immediate registration of an FIR and transfer of the case to Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) in Multan.

The ACE team arrested 28 check clerks, recovered more than 500 counterfeit records, and seized a counterfeit seal. papers and false FBR receipts (including 256C and 256K) and records.

In addition, an amount of Rs 12.21 lakh has been recovered from the accused and deposited in the national exchequer, while more recoveries are underway.

Anti-corruption authorities have made it clear that those who work under the guise of check writers as part of a corrupt mafia do not deserve any leniency. “These individuals are criminals against the public and the state. Their cases will be pursued to their logical conclusion, their property will be confiscated, their licenses revoked, and they will be blacklisted,” officials stated.

They further stressed that all individuals involved in preparing false records or facilitating such activities will set an example to deter future wrongdoing.
