Rawalpindi (UrduPoint / Pakistan Point News – 29 March 2026) Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Rawalpindi The branch will commemorate the forty-seventh anniversary of the death of its founder, Martyr Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, on April 4, with all respect and appreciation.
In this regard, a meeting of wing committees, affiliated organizations and party workers was held at the party office in Liaquat Bagh under the chairmanship of PPP Rawalpindi Chairman and Media Advisor to Senate President Mian Khurram Rasool. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party in Punjab, Rana Rafqat Ali, the former Managing Director of the Pakistan Treasury Malik Amir Fida Paracha, the former Deputy Mayor of the city, Raja Altaf Hussain, and a large number of party workers.
Mian Khurram Rasool praised Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, describing him as a visionary and great leader who laid the foundation of Pakistan’s nuclear program and made the country’s defense invincible.
He stated that Bhutto’s contributions to Pakistan’s security and sovereignty will always be remembered.
He also highlighted Benazir Bhutto’s sacrifices to restore democracy and recognized the role of President Asif Ali Zardari in strengthening the democratic system. He stressed that the leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party constantly fought for democracy, the supremacy of the Constitution and the rights of the people.
According to Mian Khurrum Rasool, the main ceremony will be held at the former district jail (Jaloz site) in Rawalpindi at 11:00 am on April 4, where mass prayers will be offered and tribute flowers will be laid.
In addition, the prayer Gatherings will be organized in different areas of the city. A seminar will also be held at Rawalpindi Arts Council where party leaders, journalists and intellectuals will address the gathering.
