Islamabad, March 21, 2026 Eid al-Fitr was celebrated with religious fervor and devotion across Pakistan, in keeping with the national celebration of this holy festival.

The day began with special prayers in mosques, where worshipers called for the stability, safety, unity and solidarity of the Islamic nation, as well as the country’s progress and prosperity.

Eid al-Fitr marks the end of Ramadan, the month of fasting, devotion and spiritual contemplation. The celebration begins with the sighting of the crescent of Shawwal, followed by special supplications to express thanks to God for granting him success to complete the month of fasting.

Across the country, Eid prayers were held at different times. In the Twin Cities, rallies were held between 7:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m.

As families gathered to celebrate this happy occasion, citizens were keen to arrive at the right time to mosques and holidays to participate in prayers and celebrations, reflecting the discipline and enthusiasm on this day.

Across the country, in a show of unity, political leaders also participated in Eid prayers and joined the public in celebrating the joyous occasion.

As the celebrations continued, families visited their relatives and friends, exchanged Eid greetings and enjoyed traditional sweets. Full of excitement, the children received clear banknotes from their elders and enjoyed their new clothes and shoes, adding to the festive atmosphere.

In the twin cities of Islamabad and RawalpindiSpecial Eid gatherings were held in all major areas. Believers gathered in mosques, holidays, and open spaces to perform prayers, as scholars highlighted the importance of the holy holiday.
